My parents have a rowan tree in their front garden that has berries. They're happy to let people have some if they're interested. They can be used to make an interesting jelly to go with meat or cheese. No doubt there are other uses for them aswell Sarah

I'd be interested in some please Sarah. I've found an interesting recipe for 'hedgerow jam' using rowan berrries, hawthorn hips, sloes, crab apples, blackberries, elderberries and hazelnuts described as 'autumn in a jar'. Just need to forage all the other ingredients! I'll post if anyone wants it.

How many crab apples would you need? I have a young tree and usually make crab apple jelly from it - well a friend does and I watch!
