Reading recent topics on the forum it would seem that it might be a good idea to have one person represent different groups within Transition Horsham. Wouldn't it be a good idea, to have a diplomatic person who could liason with local government regarding transport issues and such like? For instance if Seedy Saturday needed an artistic display as a focal point they could contact the representitive for the art group who would work to provide one. What do you all think :?:

Seems a good idea to me to have a Steering group to encourage more active involvement and keep TH going in a positive direction - would like to read 'the book' and check out the structure they recommend - we could check it out with everyone in the meeting Thurs 25th.

Could certainly have done with some creative input into Seedy Saturday, although the logo that Alan produced was really good - if we do it next year, or should I say, when we do it next year, it would be lovely to have an arts group to turn to.

If I've understood the ideas in the book properly, the idea is to have more or less autonomous (do I mean that? I think I do) groups for specialist interests, which eventually become self-sustaining. So while we might start with a "Steering Group" it's ambition would be to spin off the specialist groups and then dissolve itself. I really must re-read the book...

Hi Trevor, yeah i think we build up to a great "Unleashing" of all the positive energy (via the groups) into the community at large and then we let the Horsham Towns people do with it what they will, eg Lewes did their pound note. Sounds fantastic. Great excuse to have a party and a big gathering...

Plan to have monthly re-made textile events with Norma. Would be good to have natural dying included in this. Then if we follow it up with the bike rides in the summer - would be good to have a foraging bike ride, Mark do you have the map? - and a bike mechanic day to help us get our bikes into shape. We would have our re-made day at Sedgewick Park ....and then have a fashion show from what we've made! The gardening/food groups could work in conjunction and we could have a big food festival along with the Fashion show, maybe around harvest time? What do you think. Should we have the film nights around this period or after?

Would that be the "Big Unleashing"? would we have completed all the 12 steps? xx :D

If we do start an art / design group I would be happy to be counted in. Art, Design and Publicity was my full time occupation until I retired and I covered just about every aspect of the business. I still have all my art and design equipment which can be put to good use.

Paul.

Hi all! We've got a little steering group together, so if you need to contact a specific group you will know who to contact. I know a lot of you are real busy (what a hectic world we live in) so its people who can devote more time to transition.

Lorna Mackay - Art
Debbie - Building
Maggie - Food (growing too)
Beryl - Treasurer
