Noises have been around for a few weeks that the govt and others were anxious that the Feed in Tariff (FIT) was becoming too generious - indeed some have been saying "robbing from the poor to give to the rich"!!! ie as all pay a small portion of our utility bills towards the "green taxes" - which subs the FIT - it is only those whom a) have the roof space and importantly,b) have the money have been benefiting disproportionately.

Hence the immediate changes proposed, (well for any installations not registered by 12th December - with a consultation ending by year end to review the whole FIT's programme. The core FIT will reduce from 43.3p down to 21p - more than a 50% reduction!!!

I am pleased that within the review,( and some may have sensed my displeasure) include the "free solar/rent a roof" mob whom actually have probably caused the acceleration in the FIT reduction.

Indeed there is now a section within the consultation and specifically at these companies to adjust the strain they have casued by over gaining the FIT at everyones elses expense.
