For interest, in anticipation of an increased demand for watering our recently constructed vegetable plot, I've just completed upgrading from 3 x 200 litre water butts to 2 x 1,000 food-grade IBC's (see http://www.dvfuels.co.uk/category.asp?catID=3.

Chose plastic pallets (wood and metal available) and am pleased with the almost new condition of the containers. Have raised one container onto blocks so that water will flow by gravity to most of our small garden.

On reflection I should have taken some pictures of the installation before I covered it up to protect the tank from UV light.

Also upgraded the previous 'standard' water-diverter to a Guttermate. The Guttermate is very easy to unblock (from bits of moss regularly falling from roof). See http://www.sam-turner.co.uk/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=25_94_149&products_id=4268
